Gelora Deklarasikan Dukungan Ke Capres Prabowo Akhir Pekan Ini

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Gelora Party Mahfuz Sidik said his party would declare support for Prabowo Subianto as a candidate for president (candidate) in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) in Jakarta, Saturday (2/9) weekend.

"The declaration of the Indonesian Gelora Party supporting Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate will be held in Jakarta on Saturday (2/9)," Mahfuz said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

According to him, the declaration will be attended directly by the Minister of Defense and General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.

Mahfuz said the Gelora Party also invited leaders of coalition political parties supporting Prabowo Subianto, namely the Gerindra Party, PKB, Golkar Party, PAN, PBB, and political parties that will join the coalition ranks.

"The declaration will be attended directly by Pak Prabowo. We will also invite the leaders of coalition political parties," he said.

Mahfuz emphasized that all administrators of the National Leadership Council (DPN) and all leaders of the Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Gelora Party from 38 provinces will attend the declaration of support.

Meanwhile, as many as 514 leaders of the Gelora Regional Leadership Council (DPD) from regencies/cities throughout Indonesia will take part in an online declaration event.

"All central and provincial leaders of the Gelora Party were present in the declaration, and were also attended by all city/district leaders through online applications," he said.

The Gelora Party's decision to support Prabowo, said Mahfuz, was after the Gelora Party's intensive communication process with Prabowo Subianto and other Gerindra leaders since March 2023.

After the principle agreement was made, the Gelora Party conducted socialization to all regional and regional (district/city) leaders to ensure support for the same attitude.

"In mid-August 2023, we have received a letter of support from 38 provincial-level regional leaders representing 514 district/city-level regional leaders. They all unanimously agreed to support Prabowo Subianto as the presidential candidate for support for the Indonesian Gelora Party," he said.

Mahfuz assessed that the Gelora Party's decision to support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate because he has the same ideology and narrative so that he has the same understanding of the geopolitical situation and the need for Indonesia to become a strong country.

In addition, the Gelora Party also has a mission with Prabowo Subianto to gather central strength to make the 2024 General Election a success and strengthen Indonesia's democracy.
