JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) already has a good system. In fact, his work also exists, such as carrying out hand arrest operations (OTT) to arrest perpetrators of corruption. This was conveyed in response to the statement of the 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri who said the anti-corruption commission was ineffective. So, if necessary, it should be disbanded. The “Institution is good. The system is good, every month there is also OTT, ” Jokowi told reporters at Brahrang Market in Binjai, Friday, August 25. Even so, the KPK also needs to be evaluated. Jokowi said there was no perfect state institution in carrying out his work. “ Yes, there must be something that needs to be evaluated, corrected. I think there is a lack of any institution. I think that should be corrected, evaluated, ” said the former governor of DKI Jakarta. Previously reported, the KPK was in the spotlight after the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri had spoken to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) so that the institution was dissolved. After the spotlight, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said Megawati didn't mean anything. He said he only wanted the eradication of corruption to run optimally.
