JAKARTA - The Housing Financing Fund Management Center (PPDPP) of the Ministry of PUPR revealed that Indonesian Sharia Bank was able to process Home Ownership Loans through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) this year.

"Currently, BSI can carry out the FLPP KPR process, but the collection of FLPP funds can only be carried out after a mutual understanding between BSI and the Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing of the Ministry of PUPR and a cooperation agreement (PKS) between BSI and PPDPP," said PPDPP Main Director, Arief. Sabaruddin in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 2 February.

According to Arief, before the pre-merger was implemented, BRI Syariah and BNI Syariah had already become executing banks for FLPP funds, so with the merger of these sharia banks, the number of implementing banks that had been 38 banks would decrease by 1 bank.

The merger of Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM), BRI Syariah (BRIS) and BNI Syariah (BNIS) to become Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as of February 1, 2021 has an impact on the banks implementing the FLPP funds in 2021. In the future, BSI has confirmed itself to channel funds FLPP in 2021.

"However, currently there are 38 banks that distribute FLPP funds until the implementation of a joint understanding between the Directorate General of Infrastructure Financing of the Ministry of PUPR and BSI and followed by a cooperation agreement (PKS) between PPDPP and BSI which is planned to take place this February," he said.

BSI has a target product champion, one of which is FLPP. Of the 200 branches owned by BSI, 3 BSI branch offices will be used as a pilot project for FLPP fund distribution, namely the ex Bank BRI Syariah BSD branch, ex Bank BNI Syariah Kebon Jeruk branch and ex-BSM Hasanuddin branch using the BSI entity.

"Currently, our focus is on the timeline for the implementation of the 2021 FLPP fund disbursement, reconciling the distribution of 3 pre-merged banks and preparing a host to host information technology system for BSI banks," said Arief.

Previously, President Joko Widodo hoped that PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk was agile in seizing opportunities after it was officially launched.

President Jokowi said that Bank Syariah Indonesia, which was the result of the merger of three state-owned sharia banks, must be able to create new trends and not just follow existing trends.
