JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia will provide COVID-19 inspection services using the GeNose method at Pasar Senen Station and Yogyakarta Station on February 5.

KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus said, there are a number of conditions that must be followed by prospective passengers before taking the test using GeNose as a condition for long-distance travel.

Joni explained that passengers need to pay attention to these requirements so that the GeNose test results can be accurate, from the prohibition of eating to smoking for 30 minutes before carrying out the test.

"To carry out the GeNose C19 examination, prospective passengers must be in good health, have a ticket, and are prohibited from smoking, eating, drinking (except water), for 30 minutes before examining the breath sample," said Joni in his statement, Monday, February 1.

If you want to undergo an inspection, prospective passengers are required to queue and register in an orderly manner. Furthermore, they were given a GeNose C19 bag after processing the payment.

At the GeNose C19 inspection service, prospective passengers are asked to take a breath through the nose and exhale through the mouth 3 times.

"The steps are, 2 times at the beginning, take a breath and throw it in the mask. Then when you take the third breath, immediately blow it into the bag until it's full," he said.

Then, lock the bag so that the air inside does not come out and hand the bag over to the officer for analysis using the GeNose C19 tool.

Joni said, the results of the GeNose C19 examination will come out in about 3 minutes. The examination is carried out 1 time without repetition.

"The results of the examination that show negative are valid 3 x 24 hours from the issuance of the print-out. Meanwhile, if the results are positive, prospective passengers are not allowed to take the train," said Joni.

If it shows a positive result, a potential passenger ticket can be canceled via a special counter or via WhatsApp KAI121 at 081-1121-11121 and the ticket will be refunded in full.

For information, during the period 26 January to 8 February 2021, Long-distance train customers are required to show the results of the GeNose C19 examination or the Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR as a health requirement for individuals traveling. This is in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Transportation No. 11 of 2021.
