Netizen's 'Punch' For The House Of Representatives Member Bakri HM For Stating "Nothing Special In NTT"

Members of the DPR Commission V Bakri HM when talking about NTT, there was nothing special in the RDP with the Director General of Human Settlements and the Head of BPIW

JAKARTA - The statement made by a member of Commission V DPR-RI A Bakri H.M., who said that the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was nothing special except for the Komodo dragon went viral on social media.

“Yesterday, my friends from Commission V invited me to visit NTT. Nothing special there. The most special thing is Komodo dragons," he said in a meeting with the Director General of Human Settlements and the Head of the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency (BPIW) of the Public Works And Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry on Tuesday, January 26.

On this occasion, he also explained about the diversity of tourist objects in his native Jambi area, such as Muaro Jambi Temple, Batanghari River, Merangin Geopark, Tuo Tabir House and Mount Kerinci.

"In my place (Jambi) there are many (tourist objects)," he said.

For information, the hearing (RDG) between BPIW-PUPR Ministry and Commission V discussed the 2021 work program. In one of the sessions, Bakri considered that the NTT Province budget plan was quite large.

The news about the statement of the council members has also been widely discussed by netizens in the country, especially on the Twitter platform. On average, netizens expressed their concern over Bakri's statement.

One of them who expressed disappointment was Harival Zayuka via @harivalzayuka. In his tweet, he even offered Bakri to jointly explore NTT's potential, especially from the tourism aspect.

"Dear. Mr. A Bakri HM, Member of Commission V DPR. Sir, it seems like your adventure is not far yet! Until you can say that NTT has nothing special except for Komodo. Should I invite you to get to know NTT further?" he said on Sunday, January 31, while sharing some photos of NTT's beautiful scenery.

Furthermore, he also regretted the attitude of the members of Commission V which he considered such statement should not be spoken by a representative of the people.

"To insult one of the regions because of the Budget discussion, it seems like it's a bit unpleasant to hear, sir. Especially if you have discussed NTT tourism destinations. For me, NTT is one of my favorite provinces in Indonesia. I like hanging out there," he said.

Likewise, a similar expression was also conveyed by Zulphie Phianto through his tweet @OenZhoe.

“There is still a Kolbano beach with colorful stones, Liman beach on the island of Semau with very soft white sand, Alor with very beautiful coral reefs. Too many to mention, sir," he said.
