Police Investigate 'Road Koboi' Penodong Pistol CRV Driver After Arguing With Motorcyclist

PURWOKERTO - The North Purwokerto Sector Police (Polsek) team investigated the action of a "street convoy" carried out by a CRV car driver on Jalan Ringin Tirto, Bancarkembar Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java.

North Purwokerto Police Chief Kompol Margono said the street cowboy action started with a car accident with a motorcyclist.

According to him, the traffic accident has been handled by the Banyumas City Police Traffic Unit (Polresta).

Meanwhile, the driver of the car with the initials AN (24), who is suspected of being affected by alcoholic beverages, has been followed up with a urine examination by the Banyumas Police Narcotics Investigation Unit and the results are positive.

"I heard positive. Only positive contains what, I don't understand," said Kompol Margono, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.

Regarding the firearm carried by the car driver, he said the weapon used by the man was just a toy gun.

When asked about the information that the weapon had been pointed at by residents, the police chief admitted that he did not know exactly what happened.

"People are all kinds of assumptions, maybe like this, maybe like this, it's like this, it's like this, there are various assumptions. So I don't know exactly because I didn't go to the crime scene, I have another crime scene," he said.

Based on information from residents around the scene, the incident occurred on Tuesday (25/7) morning after a CRV car collided with a motorcycle driven by a woman.

One resident who knew about the incident, Arif (33) said the driver of the car had asked to be resolved peacefully.

"But his mother (female motorcycle rider, ed) asked the police station. Then there was a dispute, finally many people helped, including me there too," he said.

When there was a dispute, he said, a teacher from one of the elementary schools located not far from the crime scene (TKP) came to help mediate.

According to him, the teacher asked about the chronology of the incident, so the woman explained it.

"For a long time, he (the driver of the car, ed) challenged the teacher, wanted to fight, then he put out a ride (a gun, red)," he explained, who was behind the driver of the car at that time.

When they found out the driver of the car took out a firearm, he said, residents who were crowding around the scene immediately ran out of fear.

In fact, he said, the elementary school teacher who also ran to the school was chased by the car driver.

Not long after, he continued, the driver of the car turned around and put the object back into the bag he was wearing.
