PBNU Asks Radicalism To Be Eradicated, Polri: All Work Together To Handle

JAKARTA - The National Police has played a role in eradicating the spread of radicalism that still occurs in the community.

This statement is intended to answer the request of the General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Said Aqil Siradj to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"The National Police together with other stakeholders, such as the BNPT and others work hand in hand to deal with the problem of radicalism," said Karo Penmas of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to VOI, Friday, January 29.

As previously reported, Said Aqil Siradj had told his experience about the contents of dealing with insults in several mosques. So, Said asked the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to follow up. Because, if left unchecked, there will be a spread of radicalism.

In a meeting with the National Police Chief, Said Aqil also detailed several mosques that had been the location for the insulting lecture.

In addition, Said Aqil also touched on the flow of funds from the National Zakat Agency (Baznas). He asked the Chairman of Baznas to ensure that the flow of funds was not misused.
