An 8-year-old Boy In Semarang Allegedly Burned By His Friend

SEMARANG - Police are investigating a case of alleged arson of an 8-year-old boy in Semarang Regency, Central Java.

Semarang Police Chief AKBP Achmad Oka Mahendra confirmed the handling of the case that happened to the boy with the initials S, a resident of Pakis Village, Bringin District, Semarang Regency.

"There have been reports from victims and handled by the PPA Unit of the Semarang Police Criminal Investigation Unit," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 13.

Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Section of the Semarang Police, Iptu Pri Handayani, added that the incident allegedly committed by a playmate of the victim occurred on June 24, 2023.

According to him, the examination of the witnesses in the incident had already been carried out.

"Witness testimony in the victim's neighborhood, the victim's family, to the hamlet head," he said.

He said the victim who suffered burns to his leg had received treatment at the Ambarawa Hospital.

It is confirmed that the investigation process by the Semarang Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still ongoing.
