Unlicensed Political Party Attributes Confiscated By DKI Provincial Government

JAKARTA - There are so many political party attributes whose installation or broadcast period has ended in five areas of the DKI Jakarta Administrative City, which has irritated the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

The DKI Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) finally confiscated political party attributes such as banners and billboards that did not have permits.

The removal of political party attributes carried out in five areas of the DKI Jakarta Administrative City was also due to the end of the installation or broadcast period.

"We urge all parties to participate in maintaining order, cleanliness and mutual comfort in terms of installing information media and visual aids'", said Head of DKI Service Police Unit Arifin in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Arifin said that the revocation was also specifically related to the socialization period for the 2024 General Election, which has not yet entered the campaign stage.

Based on the Data and Information Section in June 2023, the DKI Satpol PP has taken down 1,006 party flags and 3,101 banners related to community figures and certain party figures.

"For your information, the majority of the control is related to the 2024 elections and also political party props'", said Arifin, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, July 8.

Previously, Arifin said that the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP was coordinating with the General Election Commission (KPU) and the DKI Jakarta Province Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding security preparations for the 2024 General Election and Pilkada.

"We need to have similarities in terms of the intersection of tasks related to Service Police Unit, KPU and Bawaslu'", said Head of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Arifin.
