JAKARTA - A number of DPRD members feel offended by the statement made by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Cultural Service Iwan Hendri Wardhana. The reason for this was due to his statement regarding the recommendation for the implementation of Formula E in the National Monument (Monas) area.

Iwan is considered to have disrespected the existence of the DPRD as a legislative by keeping the recommendations of the Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) and the Restoration Session Team (TSP) to the public, because Iwan said this recommendation was a kitchen matter for the executive ranks.

This confusion was conveyed in a meeting between Commission E DPRD and the Jakarta Culture Office which was held today, Wednesday, February 19.

Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Zita Anjani, conveyed his confusion that he considered the DPRD to be the working partner of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as the executive. Therefore, according to Zita, it is inappropriate for Iwan to say that the recommendation for the implementation of Formula E is the secret of his own kitchen.

"Pak Iwan's response to saying that this is a kitchen matter, in my opinion, is inappropriate. If you make a statement in public, it is well guarded," said Zita in a meeting.

Continuing, Secretary of Commission E DPRD DKI Johnny Simanjuntak considered Iwan's statement regarding the secret of the recommendation to be too arrogant. According to him, Iwan, as the Head of the Office, used the APBD in implementing Formula E, not from the personal funds of the executive ranks.

"Because it is public money, the public must and must know about the policies made by the government," said Jhonny.

In the middle of the meeting, the Chairman of the DKI Regional Parliament, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, entered the room. Prasetio was furious at Iwan's statement.

"What you say is so great, as if this is your own stomach matter. As the leader, I am offended by your words," said Prasetio, directing his gaze to Iwan who was sitting in front of him.

"Don't be a champion, lo," continued Prasetio as he pounded the table.

Hearing Prasetio's offended expression, Iwan lowered his head. Then, he turned his head at Prasetio and occasionally nodded his head.

It was Iwan's turn to answer. The first statement he issued was an apology for the remarks that offended the board members.

"On my personal behalf, I would like to apologize if my oral remarks written in the media could offend the chairman of the council and ladies and gentlemen," said Iwan.

Iwan said, all spoken speech that is transferred to writing, sometimes can give different perceptions when caught by other people.

He clarified that in providing recommendations, there was a trial process carried out by the Restoration Session Team (TSP). The TSP discussion in the trial is internal. That is why he said recommendations were a kitchen matter.

"In the trial process, of course, there is a debate about differences of opinion, which is a scientific note that is not the same for everyone. We do not need to intervene," said Iwan.

On Thursday, February 13, Iwan stated in the recommendation letter for the implementation of Formula E that was submitted to the Steering Committee for the Development of the Free Medan Area, it was not stated that the recommendation came from the TACB. Because of this, reporters asked Iwan to show evidence of his letter.

However, Iwan did not want to show it. Instead, he stated that the recommendation was a kitchen matter and should not be disclosed.

"Yes, no please, my kitchen. It's delicious. Wow, this is my kitchen recommendation. Anyway, I gave it to the Sports Agency. Find it myself," he said.
