JAKARTA - Yogyakarta Train Station (KA) will be one of two stations equipped with checks using GeNose to fulfill travel requirements for long-distance train passengers, in addition to the antigen rapid test service that has been carried out at 46 stations.

"This GeNose Test is planned to be available starting February 5," said Supriyanto, the Public Relations Manager of PT. KAI for Operation Region 6 Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 27.

Even so, he added, he could not yet confirm the number of GeNose to be prepared at Yogyakarta Station because the fulfillment of the equipment was still in the preparation stage carried out by Gadjah Mada University (UGM) together with PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia as a partner of PT. KAI.

In addition to Yogyakarta Station, inspection using GeNose will also be opened at Gambir Station, Jakarta. Just like the rapid antigen test or PCR swab test, the results of the examination using GeNose are only valid a maximum of 3x24 hours before departure.

According to him, the rules for using GeNose as a requirement for travelers by long-distance train have been stated in the Ministry of Transportation's Circular Letter Number 11 of 2021 concerning the extension of the implementation of instructions for implementing people traveling by train during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the work area of PT. KAI, Operational Area 6 Yogyakarta, rapid antigen test services can be accessed at five stations, namely Yogyakarta, Lempuyangan, Solo Balapan, Klaten, and Purwosari Stations.

Long-distance train passengers can take advantage of the service at a rate of IDR 105,000 and are required to show the train ticket booking code.

Apart from showing non-reactive or negative results for various types of medical examinations, passengers are also required to be in good health, not having flu, colds, coughs, loss of smell, diarrhea, and fever. Body temperature shouldn't not more than 37.3 degrees Celsius.

Passengers are also asked to always wear a medical mask or three-layer cloth mask and are advised to wear long sleeves.

A number of additional rules were also implemented by PT. KAI, namely the prohibition of speaking between passengers while traveling in train cars or by telephone.

Passengers traveling less than two hours are prohibited from eating and drinking except for taking drugs which otherwise could endanger the passenger's health.
