Considered Lack Of Politicians, Prabowo Ngaku Has Learned A Lot From Jokowi

JAKARTA - Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto said he did not behave like a politician, so he often lost when he ran in the presidential election (Pilpres). He admitted that he heard this from many parties.

"Many say I am less than a politician, that's why I often lose," Prabowo was quoted as saying from the Mata Najwa program on TV Narasi on Friday, June 30.

However, he believes this condition will not occur in the 2024 presidential election. This is because he has learned from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) whom he considers a political teacher.

He said, Jokowi gave many lessons because he had beaten him twice. Both of them, at that time ran in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections.

Thus, Prabowo is confident that he will run again as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. "But this time, God willing," said the Minister of Defense.

"Because I have learned politics. I learned from Pak Jokowi who beat me, that means it was a great teacher," he continued.

Prabowo also feels better prepared to face the upcoming five-year democratic party in 2024. "Yes, just relax," said the former Danjen Kopassus.

For information, Prabowo Subianto participated in the 2014 election and paired with Hatta Rajasa. At that time he faced the pair Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla who finally won the contest.

Prabowo then again tried his luck in the 2019 presidential election. He collaborated with Sandiaga Uno to fight the pair Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin who won again.

However, President Jokowi took the Gerindra Party to join his government coalition. Prabowo also received a share of the Minister of Defense and Sandiaga Uno received the position of Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) replacing Wishnutama.

Ahead of the 2024 General Election, the Gerindra Party established political cooperation with the National Awakening Party (PKB) by forming the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR). The Gerindra Party again encouraged Prabowo as a presidential candidate.
