JAKARTA - General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was officially appointed as National Police Chief replacing Idham Azis, who entered retirement. General Listyo Sigit is the 25th National Police Chief.

After being inaugurated, General Listyo Sigit emphasized that he would carry out his duties properly. Namely bringing the National Police as desired by the community. Especially in case handling.

"Of course, how to present the Polri who is firm but humanist," General Listyo Sigit said after being sworn in at the State Palace, Wednesday, January 27.

In addition, General Listyo Sigit will also improve community services. Namely, how to present the Police who are able to provide good public services.

"How do we provide services in a transparent manner and how do we provide fair law enforcement. This is certainly our task in the future," he said.

Meanwhile, General Listyo Sigit is the sole police chief candidate proposed by President Jokowi to the Indonesian Parliament. Finally, the DPR approved Listyo Sigit to become the National Police Chief.

After the inauguration is carried out, then the National Police Headquarters will hold a Handover of the Position (Sertijab) of the National Police Chief from General Idham Azis to General Listyo Sigit Prabowo today.

The handover of the Tribrata Police Panji is a traditional event at the Bhayangkara Corps as a sign that Listyo Sigit holds the highest command stick.
