JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to carry out the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination on Wednesday morning, January 27. The plan is that the vaccine will be carried out again at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

"The president is planning to receive the second phase of vaccine tomorrow Wednesday, January 27 according to the predetermined schedule," said Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) Heru Budi Hartono in a written statement, Tuesday, January 26.

It is known, the vaccine produced by Sinovac does require two injections at a dose of 0.5 milliliters and is 14 days apart.

Just like the first vaccination, this activity will be broadcasted live through the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account.

Furthermore, after receiving the vaccination, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta will inaugurate Commissioner-General (Komjen) Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Chief of Police at the State Palace to replace General Idham Azis who is entering retirement.

"The inauguration of the Chief of Police is also planned to be held tomorrow after the President has received the vaccination," said Heru.

As previously reported, President Joko Widodo became the first person to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the national vaccination program on January 13. In his statement, the head of state said that the vaccination process was quite simple and fast.

The medical officer who administers vaccine injection is Prof. Dr. Abdul Muthalib who is the Vice Chairman of the Presidential Medical Team.

In this vaccination process, President Joko Widodo had to go through four medical stages. First is registration and data verification. Second, screening medical history, then the injection stage and the last stage is the monitoring stage for 30 minutes after injection to determine the effect of vaccine administration.

This inaugural vaccination program was also attended by a number of elements of society and high state officials, such as the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, representatives of businessmen, representatives of medical personnel, representatives of small traders, and representatives of religious leaders.
