Hoax! News There Are 32 Free COVID-19 Isolation Hotels In Jakarta

JAKARTA - A Facebook account with the name Nasrullah Larada uploaded a post stating that there are 32 hotels for free isolation of COVID-19 patients in DKI Jakarta facilitated by the government.

“DKI Governor Anies R Baswedan deserves an example in protecting his citizens… There are other governors who want to imitate….? Please… There are 32 hotels in Jakarta for MANDIRI ISOLATION, the costs of which are borne by the government, ”wrote Nasrullah Larada's account on Tuesday, January 19.

However, this is misleading or hoax information. Quoted from the official length of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the claim that there are 32 hotels in Jakarta for independent isolation at the cost of being borne by the government is a false claim.

"The fact is that there are only 5 hotels in DKI Jakarta Province which are self-isolating places at the expense of the government," wrote the statement from the COVID-19 Task Force, quoted by VOI on Monday, January 25.

There are also names of hotels that are places for free independent isolation, namely Hotel Grand Asia Penjaringan, Hotel IBIS Senen, Hotel IBIS Style Mangga Dua Hotel Twin Plaza Slipi, and Hotel U-Stay Mangga Besar.

Meanwhile, the financing for self-isolation at the 5 hotels is borne by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) which is handed over to the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

For information, the occupancy of isolation beds in DKI as of January 24 has reached 86 percent. The details, the isolation beds that have been filled are 6,954 out of a total of 8,055 beds.

Meanwhile, the ICU capacity has been filled by 84 percent with a total of 1,097 ICU beds and 921 ICU beds have been used.
