Bantul Deputy Regent Abdul Halim Is Positive For COVID-19: No Dizziness Or Shortness Of Breath

JAKARTA - Deputy Regent of Bantul Abdul Halim Muslih tested positive for COVID-19. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at the Panembahan Senopati Hospital in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region.

"Everything is fine, there is no fever, no dizziness, no shortness of breath," said Abdul Halim in an upload on the official Instagram account of the Bantul Regency Government as reported by Antara, Monday, January 25.

Abdul Halim on Friday, January 22 night suspected that he was infected with the corona virus because he did not smell a sweet smell when he sprayed perfume on his clothes.

He then went to the kitchen to check the condition of his taste buds by tasting sugar and salt and found that he did not taste sugar and salt.

Abdul Halim then underwent an examination to detect the transmission of COVID-19. "I was confirmed positive for COVID-19 without knowing where and when the virus was transmitted," he said.

After being confirmed to be infected with the corona virus, he underwent quarantine at the Panembahan Senopati Hospital. His sense of smell and taste began to recover after receiving treatment at the hospital.

"You can tell the difference between sugar and salt, between perfume and Rheumason," he said.

He said that COVID-19 can affect anyone. He asked citizens to be disciplined in carrying out health protocols to avoid spreading the disease.

"Don't take risks. Stay with a mask wherever you are, because now it is no longer through droplets and close contact. Beware," he said.

To those affected by COVID-19, the Deputy Regent emphasized the importance of keeping yourself calm and maintaining body condition by eating lots of rest, and exercising.

According to data from the Bantul COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the number of Bantul residents who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, January 24 totaled 5,443 people with details of 4,197 recovered patients, 149 patients who died, and patients undergoing independent isolation or 1097 people hospitalized.
