JATENG - Police are investigating the discovery of the body of a baby dumped under the Citarum Bridge around Jalan Arteri Soekarno Hatta, Semarang City, Central Java, Friday 9 June.
The Resmob Committee of the Semarang Police Satreskrim, Ipda Dimas Prawira, said that the unfortunate baby was first discovered by children playing around the Citarum River.
"The findings were then forwarded by residents to the police," he said
When found, he said, the baby boy was face down on the water.
From the initial condition, Dimas said that the baby's body was still found in aari and wrapped in cloth.
However, he could not confirm the age or age of the baby because he still had to wait for the autopsy results.
"From his condition, he may have just been born," he said.
The baby's body was then taken to the General Hospital (RSUP) dr. Kariadi Semarang for an autopsy for further investigation.
