North Jakarta Fish Market Water Gate Is Alert Status II

JAKARTA - The water level (TMA) at the Water Gate of the Fish Market, North Jakarta, on Sunday morning was flood alert II with a height of 220 centimeters (cm).

Based on the official social media page of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) BPBD, Twitter, the chronology of the increase in the Fish Market Water Gate to Alert II occurred at 03.00 WIB.

The rise in water levels has occurred gradually in line with the rain that has flushed the Jakarta area since early Sunday morning.

At 00.00 WIB the water level of the Fish Market is in the Alert III position with a water level of 180 cm. Officers enforce alert status.

The alert condition continued until 01.00 WIB, the water level increased to 185 cm, while the weather conditions were still slightly cloudy.

Until 02.00 WIB, the water level rose again to 192 cm, the status of the Fish Market Water Gate was still on alert III.

One hour later at 03.00 WIB, light rain still flushed the Jakarta area, the status of the Fish Market Water Gate increased to Alert II with a water level of 203 cm.

BPBD DKI urges the public to anticipate rising water levels at the Fish Market Gate.

Areas that may be affected are Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing and Kalibaru.

There are efforts that can be made to anticipate the increase in the Water Gate of the Fish Market, namely disseminating information through social media, notifying village heads and sub-district heads.

"To the relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), the sub-district heads and village heads of areas prone to flooding or landslides, so that the PPSU and the Flood Task Force or PKLG of the sub-district SDA Office should be on alert," the DKI BPBD appealed to Antara.

In addition, the public is also advised to continue to implement 3M's health protocol, wear masks, wash hands and maintain distance.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has informed the Jakarta weather early warning that there is still the potential for moderate to heavy rain until 10:00 WIB.
