TNI Members Die During Fire Contact With KKB In Papua

JAYAPURA - Pratu Roy Vebrianto, member of Infantry Battalion 400 / BR. Died of gunshot wounds during a gun battle with an armed criminal group (KKB).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right chest and died upon arrival at Mitra Masyarakat Timika Hospital after being evacuated by helicopter.

Head of Information for Kogabwilhan III Col. CZI IGN Suriastawa admitted that there was an incident of gunfire in Titigi which caused one member of Yonif 400 / BR to die after being evacuated to Timika.

"Currently, the bodies are still in Timika, and from reports received until now the firefight between members of Yonif 400 / BR and KKB is still ongoing," said Col. CZI Suriasta quoted by Antara, Friday, January 22.

Previously, two members of Yonif 400 / BR who died during a firefight with KKB, namely Pratu Firdaus died during a firefight on November 7, 2020 and Prada Agus Kurniawan, Monday, January 11.

Yonif 400 BR which is headquartered in Semarang, Central Java, is part of the task force to secure vulnerable areas.
