JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan or familiarly called Zulhas reminded all Muslims in the country not to be pitted against each other, especially in the political year towards voting day for the 2024 General Election.

"Don't want to be pitted against each other. We must maintain unity and integrity and respect each other. Don't be provoked by politics, because our brotherhood is more important than everything," Zulhas said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 22.

He conveyed this when attending halal bihalal with 7,000 residents from the Indonesian Islamic Da'wah Institute (LDII) at the Multipurpose Building of the Budi Mulia Foundation, Banten, Sunday (21/5).

Previously, when delivering his remarks at the event, Zulhas apologized physically and mentally to the thousands of LDII residents who packed the multipurpose building.

He appreciated the residents of LDII who had attended the halal bihalal activity in an orderly and safe manner. Thus, he said, the event could take place safely, smoothly, and be fulfilled with blessings.

Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Chairman of the Banten LDII DPW Dimo Tomo Sumito expressed his gratitude for Zulhas' visit and his entourage. According to him, the visit was an honor for LDII residents.

He hopes that LDII as an organization that actively builds quality Indonesian human resources (HR) needs to cooperate with authority owners, both legislative and executive parties.

"LDII as a community organization that focuses on human resources, preparing professional and religious human resources, would be very appropriate if it was partnered with a ministry that has the authority to make a policy", said Dimo.

The same thing was also conveyed by one of the administrators of the Budi Mulia Foundation, namely Teteng Jumara. He said LDII can provide input to authority owners in order to make decisions that are in accordance with community conditions.

"Communication between the government as the owner of the authority and the mass organization is extraordinary because it is interrelated with each other. We as mass organizations who know the condition of the people's problems will provide input to the authorities to make decisions that are in accordance with the conditions of society," he said.
