Defense Minister Prabowo Distributes 112 Motorcycles For Babinsa In Pekalongan

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto distributed 112 official motorbikes for the operations of the Indonesian Army Village Development Officers (Babinsa), one of which was in Koramil 02/Pekalongan Timur, Central Java.

Prabowo conveyed that the official motorcycle donation was to support the task of Babinsa, one of which was territorial development.

"The territorial command must continue to be strengthened because it is the backbone of the defense," Prabowo said when symbolically handing over the motorbike to the Babinsa representative in Pekalongan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.

Prabowo explained that Indonesia's defense is a defense and security system for the people of the universe (sishankamrata) which means involving all community groups. To create a strong Sishankamrata, territorial development from the TNI is important.

A territorial command is the backbone of our defense. Our defense is the security defense of the people of the universe (hankamrata). That is our defense system from the birth of our republic. So, our republic was born from the power of the people," said Prabowo.

He took advantage of the meeting with Babinsa to remind them to be aware of efforts to divide national unity.

"Therefore, we must be vigilant in maintaining harmony. We must maintain peace, and for that I hope that the apparatus, the entire TNI, the police, and state apparatus can unite to protect the country and the nation. If we can't maintain peace, then we will have difficulties," he said.

Prabowo gave the message to maintain cohesiveness to the Babinsa considering that last month there were several cases of clashes between a group of TNI soldiers and the police.

"The solidity and synergy of the TNI-Polri as well as state apparatus and society are absolutely necessary as a source of strategic strength in order to face the various challenges of future tasks that are increasingly complex," said Prabowo.

During his visit to Pekalongan, Prabowo took the time to greet the residents directly and distribute 1,000 food packages to the community.
