Joko Tjandra's Trial Was Postponed, The Panel Of Judges Could Not Attend

JAKARTA - The trial continued in the case of alleged gratification in the fatwa arrangement of the Supreme Court (MA) with the defendant Joko Soegiarto Tjandra, it was decided to be suspended temporarily.

The reason was that the panel of judges could not lead the trial. "Yes, it is postponed, because the assembly has urgent activities," said lawyer Joko S. Tjandra, Soesilo, to VOI, Thursday, January 21.

With the trial postponed, said Soesilo, the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta had rescheduled the trial. The plan, this follow-up trial will be held on Thursday, January 28.

"Postponed until next week," said Soesilo.

Originally, at this follow-up session there was a schedule to hear expert testimony presented by the public prosecutor (JPU).

"The initial plan for the trial is at 10.00 WIB with an agenda of 2 experts from the IT Police," he said.

In this case, Joko Tjandra was charged with giving a bribe worth USD 500 thousand to Pinangki Sirna Malasari.

The money was given with the intention that Pinangki, as a prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung), will seek Djoko Tjandra, who was at that time a fugitive in the case of the transfer of the right to collect (cessie) Bank Bali not to be executed when he returned to Indonesia with a fatwa from the Supreme Court (MA).
