Adam And Aris Siamese Twins In Medan Successfully Separated

MEDAN - Adam and Aris conjoined twins who were attached to the chest and abdomen were successfully separated. This separation process was carried out through surgery for almost 10 hours by a team of doctors at the Adam Malik Medan General Hospital (RSUP).

Head of Public Relations of Adam Malik Hospital, Rosario, Dorothy Simanjuntak, said the two babies were successfully separated at 17.40 WIB after undergoing separation surgery starting at 08.00 WIB.

"We have successfully separated it at 17.40 WIB," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 20.

However, for now, Rosa has not been able to provide further information about the condition of the two babies. Because he said, surgery still had to be done on the two babies.

"For further information tomorrow," he said.

Adam and Aris are the children of Nur Rahmawati (26) and Supono (32), from Sei Kelapa II Hamlet, Tanjung Haloban Village, Bilah Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency.

Adam and Aris are the fourth adjoined conjoined twins handled by Adam Malik Hospital, having previously succeeded in separating Mariana-Mariani conjoined twins from East Aceh in 2005, Sahira-Fahira from Asahan in 2017 and Adam-Malik from North Tapanuli in 2019.
