JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) said that fever or mild cough should not limit children from getting complete basic immunizations which are one of the children's rights to be fulfilled. " “ If children feel a mild fever, it's still warm or a regular cough run, don't delay it," said Director of Immunization Management of the Directorate General of P2P of the Ministry of Health, Prima Yosephine in the Ministry of Education and Filming Broadcast which was followed in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, May 12. Prima said immunization is intended for children who are in good health. However, the fever or cough of mild colds suffered by children will not affect the condition of children when injected with the vaccine. This is different when the condition of the child's body has a fever with a temperature of 38 degrees or more. Prima explained that immunization is an important shield with three levels of protection. First, the protection provided from vaccines will protect the person himself, where the immune system in the body becomes immune to a disease. “ Even if you get sick, of course the symptoms you suffer will be very mild. It's different from people who are not immunized, ” he said. Second, immunizations given to children are useful for protecting the community. Prima explained that if people who have been immunized gather somewhere more than those who have not been immunized, then all can be protected because herd immunity has been formed or known as group immunity. While the third protection given immunization is to protect other age groups. For example, rubella immunization given to children is a form of prevention when a woman is pregnant, so that both viruses and transmissions can be broken. Prima emphasized that every free immunization is given by the government to every child, after the age level.
