Police arrest sexual predator with 13 children as victim in Cirebon (ANTARA)

CIREBON - The Cirebon Police Team, West Java, arrested a suspected sexual predator with 13 minors as victims. The police would recommend being sentenced to castration.

"The victim is up to 13 minors and may still increase," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes M. Syahduddi in Cirebon, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 20.

Syahduddi said the suspect was a sexual predator arrested by the Cirebon Police with the initials NF (51) and the suspect was also a mosque guard in one of the housing estates.

The NF suspect committed acts of sexual crimes against minors by luring him to give items to the victims.

"After the victim wanted it, the perpetrator immediately committed the act and it was carried out in a room that was still around the house of worship (mosque)," he said.

The suspect's actions have been carried out for nearly a year with the victim currently being 13 minors, but it is possible that this will increase as the examination progresses.

"We have only asked for statements from nine victims, the rest have not. From the suspect's confession, he has committed sexual crimes against 13 children. But we are still investigating," he said.

Syahduddi said that his party would recommend to the Prosecutor and District Court to sentence the suspect to castration.

In addition, the NF was also charged with Article 76 E Jo Article 82 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No.17 of 2016, concerning the stipulation of the government to replace Law No.1 of 2016 concerning the second amendment to Law No.23 of 2002 concerning child protection into Law, with a minimum prison sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years.

"We will apply the PP related to chemical castration that has been signed by the President. Where later we will recommend to the public prosecutor and the judge to apply the sentence," he said.
