Two foreigners from India arrested for selling imitation gems (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Immigration Officers have arrested two foreign nationals (WNA) India who have violated their residence permit and traded imitation gems.

"The two foreigners with the initials MZS (57) and SNA (27), both of them are male with Indian citizenship," said Head of the Immigration Division of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office M Saffar Godam in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 19.

The two foreigners who live in Basura Apartments, East Jakarta were reported by the public for having activities outside the permits given by the government.

Their activity is selling synthetic or imitation gem types in the Blok M shopping area, Central Jakarta.

"The two foreigners were found while trading by entrusting their merchandise to a shop in Blok M," he said.

According to Godam, the activities carried out by MZF and SNA were included in the immigration violation criteria because they carried out activities that did not comply with their permits.

At the time of the arrest, said Godam, officers obtained evidence in the form of 26 gems along with certificates, hundreds of synthetic gems and two passport books.

The officer then led the foreigner to the DKI Jakarta Immigration Office, Jalan MT Haryono, Cawang, East Jakarta, Tuesday. "The process was carried out to upgrade to the investigation stage as of January 18 yesterday," he said.

The two foreigners are currently charged with criminal acts of immigration Article 112 of Law Number 6 Year 2011 with the threat of five years imprisonment and a fine of IDR 200 million.
