Khofifah Facilitates Labor Representative Meeting With Mahfud MD

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa facilitated labor leaders and workers to meet Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD in Jakarta regarding the Job Creation Law.

"Alhamdulillah, we are confirmed to be accepted by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs this week at his office in Jakarta, according to the expectations of representatives of the leaders of labor unions / workers in East Java to express their aspirations," Khofifah said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 1.

Khofifah hopes that all aspiration facilitation in the dialogue forum with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs will be used so that workers and East Java workers can directly express their aspirations, especially regarding the revision of the Job Creation Law.

"In addition, so that workers and workers can also get complete and comprehensive information regarding the Job Creation Law," he said.

In front of the workers who are members of KSPI, KSBSI, KSARBUMUSI, KSPI, SPI RTMM, SPSI LEM, SPSI KEP, SPN and FSPMI, Khofifah expressed her commitment to oversee the seven recommendation points set at this year's May Day moment.

Poin pertama, pekerja meminta Gubernur Khofifah mengeluarkan rekomendasi yang ditujukan kepada Presiden dan DPR terkait UU Cipta Kerja Nomor 6 tahun 2023.

Second, the workers want the Governor and the East Java DPRD to make a regional regulation (Perda) regarding severance pay guarantees to be carried out in 2023.

Third, allocate it through P-APBD to finance public health insurance, especially for workers who get Termination of Work Relations (PHK).

Fourth, workers ask the Governor through the East Java Manpower and Transmigration Office to enforce the law and sanctions against employers who do not participate in BPJS Employment.

Fifth, Governor Khofifah was asked to immediately resolve industrial relations problems that occurred in the company.

Sixth, ask the Governor to evaluate the performance of the East Java Provincial Head of Manpower Supervisory.

Seventh, workers encourage the Governor to issue recommendations addressed to the President not to revise Government Regulation Number 109 of 2012 concerning government plans through the Minister of Health regarding cigarettes and tobacco products that are equated with drugs.

"Let's guard it together and remind me if something is missed. This recommendation is part of our joint efforts so that workers are prosperous and protected but at the same time the East Java economy will also continue to grow and rise," said Khofifah.
