So He Was Being Hunted For Almost A Year, Armed With Arrows In Makassar Arrested

MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Regional Police Resmob Team arrested a man with the initials Sy (28) who carried out mugging in Makassar. It has been almost a year since the perpetrator was wanted by the police.

Kasubdit Ditreskrimum Polda Sulsel, Kompol Suprianto, said the perpetrator Sy was arrested on Sunday, January 17, at Jalan Mariso, Makassar City.

"Members arrived at his house and immediately made arrests and succeeded in securing the suspected perpetrators. The suspects were taken to the post for examination," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Criminal Investigation of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kompol Suprianto, to reporters Tuesday, January 19.

The arrest of the perpetrator began with a mugging victim's report to the police. The mugging took place March 17, 2020 on Jalan Sungai Saddang, Makassar.

"The perpetrator stopped right behind the victim who was busy unloading the goods. Suddenly the two people approached the victim and immediately took the victim's bag," said Police Commissioner Suprianto.

The victim fought back and was assisted by one of the local residents. However, the perpetrator took out an arrow or it is commonly called in Makassar, a bow.

"The two perpetrators managed to escape and carried the victim's bag. Then the victim reported the incident to the authorities. One perpetrator is still in pursuit," said Suprianto.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator Sy confessed his actions. The perpetrator also grabbed onto Jl Dr Ratulangi and Jl Mappaodang armed with a bow.

"On Jl Ratulangi, he took his cellphone. In Mappaodang, the perpetrator took the bag belonging to the victim who had just gotten out of the car on a motorbike," said Suprianto.

The perpetrator was suspected under Article 365 of the Criminal Code. The suspect and evidence were handed over to the Makassar Police.
