Flash Flood At Gunung Mas Puncak Bogor, Hundreds Of Residents Evacuated

CISARUA - Bogor Regent Ade Yasin confirmed that there were no casualties in the flash floods in the Gunung Mas area in Tugu Selatan Village, Puncak, Cisarua.

"There were no fatalities, only 464 residents were evacuated to a safe place," he said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 19.

The Bogor Regency Government is still trying to prepare several evacuation points, so that flood victims do not crowd because they are still in a COVID-19 pandemic situation.

"Because it is still a pandemic period, so we shouldn't crowd around, so we need to prepare enough places for them to rest. Meanwhile, in a nearby mosque," said the Head of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Budi Pranowo said the process of handling the disaster location was still ongoing.

"The BPBD team consists of an evacuation and equipment team, a logistics shelter team, and a first aid team with an ambulance to pick up refugees," he said.

He said there were 134 heads of families (KK) with 474 people who had to evacuate to mosques and places that were considered safe, because there were concerns that further flash floods could occur.

The flood caused by the flow of the Ciliwung tributary that passed through the PTPN VIII tea plantation damaged dozens of residents' houses and closed several access roads.
