Secretary General: Central KPU Secretariat - Region No Halalbihalal Until Next Week

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the General Election Commission (KPU) Bernad Dermawan Sutrisno said that the ranks of the KPU secretariat from the center to the regions will not carry out halalbihalal until next week.

"The ranks of the KPU Secretariat from the center to the district/city do not carry out apples and halalbihalal until next week," said Bernad in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 26, as quoted by Antara.

This, he continued, was in accordance with the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD as Minister for Ad interim Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) delivered in Jakarta, on Monday 24 April.

Next, Bernad also conveyed that related to the presence of KPU Secretariat officials at the KPU Office, both at the central and regional levels after the Lebaran 2023 holiday, each KPU secretary monitored his staff so that support for holding the 2024 General Election would continue according to the existing schedule.

"Regarding attendance at the office, each KPU secretary as the head of the work unit controls employees by taking into account that the support for the election stages continues according to the schedule of the stages," he said.

Previously, Mahfud as Minister of PAN-RB ad interim instructed all government offices to postpone the implementation of halalbihalal Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri or 2023 AD.

Mahfud instructed that government offices only start conducting halalbihalal activities and the like in the second week after Eid al-Fitr.

"All government offices, namely ministries/non-ministerial/BUMN/TNI/Polri offices, plan for halalbihalal and the like so that they are postponed until the beginning of the second week after Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri," he said.

Mahfud specifically said that the first week after Eid al-Fitr was April 24 to 30, 2023 and during that period the government office was instructed not to hold halalbihalal activities and the like.
