COVID-19 Patients Who Died In North Sumatra So 715 People

JAKARTA - The number of patients who died due to COVID-19 in North Sumatra Province as of Monday, January 18 reached 715 people. This is based on data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force.

"Today there are four additional deaths from Medan and Deli Serdang, two people each. The total currently has reached 715 people," said Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Task Force, dr Aris Yudhariansyah in Medan, as reported by Antara.

Aris said the increase was still occurring in the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients. Until January 18, the accumulation reached 19,721 people after the addition of 74 new cases.

The addition of 74 new cases was mostly from Medan, namely 47 people. Then five from Langkat, four from Deli Serdang, three from Dairi and Gunung Sitoli, two from Pematangsiantar and Serdang Bedagai.

One each from Binjai, Tebing Tinggi, Asahan, North Tapanuli, Toba, Humbang Hasundutan, Samosir and Labuhan Batu Utara.

However, he said, the number of recovered patients also continued to increase. The current accumulation has reached 16,974 cure rates.

This number was found after an addition of 85 COVID-19 patients who were declared cured.

The additions were 33 each from Medan City, 16 from Deli Serdang, six from Toba, five from Pematangsiantar and Simalungun, four from Binjai, three from Asahan, Serdang Bedagai and Labuhan Batu Selatan.

"Two from Labuhan Batu and two from unknown domicile and one each from Langkat, Tapanuli Tengah, Mandailing Natal, Gunung Sitoli and North Nias," he said.
