New PLN Assets 30 Percent Certified, Electricity Companies Ask KPK For Help On Corruption

JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) stated that the company has at least 93 thousand land parcels that must be legalized and certified. Of these, only about 30 percent or around 28 thousand have been certified and legally valid.

President Director of PLN, Zulkifli Zaini, said that until last year's closing, the company's certified land had increased by 20 thousand land parcels.

"So that the cumulative number of land parcels that are certified will be around 45.7 percent," he said in an official statement, Monday, January 18.

Zulkifli added that PLN's achievements could not be separated from the support of the KPK in preventing corruption and saving state assets.

"We are very proud and fortunate that the KPK has chosen PLN as the priority BUMN in saving state assets," he said.

The boss of the stun company hopes that this synergy can continue so that the certification of state assets entrusted to PLN can increase to 60 percent by the end of this year and to 100 percent by the end of 2023.

On the same occasion, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri expressed his appreciation for PLN's performance over the past year.

According to the leader of the anti-rasuah institution, this strategic move by PLN is part of a public service that has an important role for the Indonesian nation.

"Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, PLN continues to have a big share in realizing national goals, including advancing public welfare and educating the nation's life," said Firli.

Regarding efforts to prevent corruption, especially through corporate asset management and certification, Firli continues to ask PLN to continue the program. In the future, Firli also hopes that PLN can continue to increase its efforts to prevent corruption.

"We entrust it as a precautionary measure, a whistleblowing system must be implemented, so that anyone can report any potential corruption. Likewise with the gratification control unit," said Firli.
