Bogor Mayor, Bima Arya, Is Examined To Become A Witness In The Rizieq Shihab Case At The Ummi Hospital

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya Sugiarto has fulfilled the summons for investigation at Bareskrim Polri. Bima Arya will be asked for information about the case allegedly obstructing the work of the COVID-19 Task Force with the three suspects.

"I received an invitation to continue the Rizieq habib case at the UMMI Hospital," Bima told reporters, Monday, January 18.

During the investigation, Bima will explain the reasons behind reporting the suspicion of obstructing the work of the Task Force. In addition, he will also explain the chronological sequence of events.

"(As a reporting witness) it seems like that. (Documents) have all been prepared. Including the basis for the rules, every step of the task force has a basis for regulations that we do not leave the corridor," he explained.

Bima emphasized that in this case there was no political motive. This is because the reporting he did was purely on legal grounds or criminal offenses.

"We want to finish as well as explain to the public, so that the public is clear, there is no political matter, there is no business. This is purely carrying out duties as head of the Task Force," he said.

In this case, Bareskrim Polri named three suspects, including Rizieq Shihab, Hanif Alatas, and President Director (Managing Director) of Ummi Hospital, dr. Andi Tatat.

They are named as suspects based on their case titles. The investigators assess that they have committed a criminal act so that their status is upgraded from witness to suspect.

With the determination of these suspects, they were charged with Article 14 paragraphs 1 and 2 of Law number 4 of 1984 concerning Disease Outbreaks, Article 216 of the Criminal Code, and Articles 14 and 15 of Law number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
