President Jokowi Goes To South Kalimantan To Ensure Disaster Management Runs Well

President Jokowi conveys his condolences for the victims of the Sumedang landslide at the Bogor Presidential Palace (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left for South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Province for a working visit and ensuring disaster management runs well. President Jokowi left with a limited group and implemented strict health protocols.

President Jokowi and his entourage, Antara reported, departed using the Indonesian presidential plane-1 from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Monday, January 18 at around 10:05 WIB to the City of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan.

Upon arrival at the Syamsudin Noor Air Force Base, Banjarbaru City, the Head of State was scheduled to immediately inspect the locations affected by the flood disaster in Pakauman Village, East Martapura District, Banjar Regency, by rubber boat.

During this work visit and review, the President will also review other affected locations such as the Mataraman Bridge.

Access to the bridge was cut off due to the flood disaster, so the President considered it very necessary to visit the evacuation post to review the condition of the affected residents and the readiness of assistance provided to them.

After this activity, the President and his limited entourage will return to the Syamsudin Noor Air Force Base to leave for Jakarta.

Participating in the flight to South Kalimantan Province included the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, the Presidential Military Secretary Marsda TNI M. Tonny Harjono, the Paspampres Commander Major General TNI Agus Subiyanto, as well as Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
