North Sumatra University Dormitory Building On Fire

JAKART - The University of North Sumatra (USU) dormitory building located on Jalan Dr. Mansyur, Merdeka Village, Medan Barum District, caught fire on Sunday, January 17.

"The one that caught fire was the USU men's dormitory building on the first floor," said Nurly, Manager of the Center for Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Medan, as reported by Antara, Sunday, January 17.

He said that currently the fire was successfully extinguished by officers with the assistance of the local community.

"The percentage is estimated to be around 20 percent," he said.

There were no fatalities in the fire incident. Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

"There were no casualties," he said.
