JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri denied reports that Rizieq Shihab refused to be examined as a suspect in a case suspected of obstructing the work of the COVID-19 Task Force at UMMI Hospital, Bogor.
Director of Criminal Actions for Barekrim Polri Brigadier General Andi Rian said Rizieq Shihab underwent the same examination as his son-in-law, Hanif Alatas.
"No (refused). He came and was present at the examination room," Andi told VOI, Saturday, January 16.
In fact, during the interrogation, the investigator also asked Rizieq a number of questions. But it was not explained how many questions the investigators asked.
"Yes (also questioned). So the person concerned is still being investigated," he said.
Previously it was reported, Rizieq Shihab refused to be examined by investigators regarding the suspected case of obstructing the work of the COVID-19 Task Force at the UMMI Hospital, Bogor. The reason is that Rizieq Shihab wants to focus on going through the legal process of two crowd cases only.
"Rizieq is not willing to be investigated," said Rizieq's lawyer, Aziz Yanuar.
Rizieq refuses to be questioned. For now, he only wants to face the crowd cases in Petamburan and Megamendung. Rizieq did not want to give information about other matters.
"Yes, because he was already a suspect in two other cases, right in the Megamendung crowd and the Petamburan crowd which made him the first suspect and caused him to be detained," said Aziz.
"And that's why he wants to focus on these two cases," continued Aziz.
