An Earthquake With A Magnitude Of 4.7 Occurred In Pangandaran

JAKARTA - An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude occurred in Pangandaran, West Java. The earthquake was 57 km deep.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred at 21:17 WIB, Friday, January 15. The location of the earthquake was at 8.48 LS-108.66 East Longitude. The epicenter was at sea 88 km southeast of Pangandaran.

This earthquake occurred with a depth of 57 km. The earthquake was mentioned by BMKG on a scale of MMI III Pangandara, III Tasikmalaya, III Cisompet, II Ciamis, II Banjar, II Garut.

BMKG once explained the MMI II Scale, namely vibrations felt by several people, light objects hanging sway. Meanwhile, the MMI III scale means that the vibration is felt real in the house.
