Head Of Synod: Easter Momentum For Christians To Rise From Crisis

AMBON - Chairman of the Daily Workers Council of the Maluku Protestant Church Synod, Elifas Maspaitella, said that Easter is a momentum for Christians to rise from the crisis that has occurred due to economic and political problems as well as natural disasters and social conflicts.

"At Easter we are called to become a community that gives hope and actively expresses social solidarity as an act of faith over the news of the free Easter," said Elifas as quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 9.

He said, during times of crisis, faith gave hope to rise and struggle to get through it.

According to him, faith also guides and frees himself from various pasangs that are inflamed in life, including destructive acts such as violence, hostility, and other crimes.

"The law also inspires us to work for the release of all creation from the threat of life destruction, free those who are bounded and victims of injustice, advocate for the rights of the people who are shackled in the grip of the giant economy, and help others who are in trouble of life," he explained.

"Get up in the belief in the power of a life-viving revival to fight for your own life and a better and more quality shared life," he said.

He also invited the people to maintain unity and participate in building a healthy and dignified democratic life.

"The revival of Christ may provide us with a new perspective that is more optimistic in facing the reality of life and moving us to actively work for a better life together," he said.
