Agreeing On Acting Governor Heru To Choose Eid Prayers At City Hall Mosques Compared To JIS, Chairman Of The DPRD Kenang Jokowi-Ahok

JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, supports the choice of Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono who prefers to hold Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri prayers at the Fatahillah Mosque, DKI Jakarta City Hall.

According to Prasetyo, until now the Fatahillah Mosque has often been a place of worship by ASN to employees of the Provincial Government and DKI Jakarta DPRD, as well as residents to office employees around.

"So if ASN and employees want Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H prayers at the Fatahillah City Mosque, that's natural, because they really want simple ones to celebrate Eid in the work environment with their families, after that they might be used to stay in touch with each other," said Prasetyo in his Instagram account. prasetyoedimarsudi

Prasetyo also recalled the roles of Joko Widodo and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) at the mosque at the DKI Provincial Government office. The PDIP politician said, initially, Jokowi, when he was the Governor of DKI, wanted City Hall to have a mosque.

When Jokowi became President, Ahok, who replaced him as Governor of DKI, built the Fatahillah Mosque with the dominant white and gray colors. After being built, the Fatahillah Mosque was also inaugurated by Jokowi.

"The Fatahillah City Hall Mosque is the dream of the previous governors like when Pak Jokowi was Governor of DKI Jakarta wanted the City Hall to have a mosque and then the construction was continued and it was realized when my brother @basukibtp became governor," he explained.

In previous years, the Fatahillah Mosque has routinely been a place for Eid prayers for the Governor of DKI Jakarta since several periods ago.

Then, when the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) was completed and officially operated, the stadium in Papanggo, North Jakarta became the location for the Eid prayer held by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Anies first held Eid prayers at JIS on May 2, 2022 in the western ramp area, when restrictions on community activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic had been relaxed. Then, Anies again held Eid prayers on July 10, 2022 at the same location.

When Heru served as Acting Governor of DKI, Heru Budi Hartono preferred to hold Eid prayers at the Fatahillah Mosque in the DKI City Hall area compared to JIS.

Heru said that his decision to hold Eid prayers at the mosque located in his office was based on the wishes of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government employees.

"I asked my friends, where do you want Eid prayers? They answered 'just here (City Hall), sir'. Yes, I have followed it," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, April 6.

Moreover, according to Heru, holding Eid prayers in mosques is easier in terms of preparation, than in the field or stadium. "I'm just simple. I think it's fixed (Idulfitri prayers) at City Hall because from the results of the obrolls of the employees, most of them ask for City Hall," he continued.
