JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened higher on Friday, January 15 after ending in the red zone yesterday. At 09.01, the JCI was seen strengthening 0.62 percent or 39.71 points to the level of 6,468.02.

JCI movement in trading this weekend is expected to continue the process of short-term decline, after yesterday slightly weakened 0.11 percent to the level of 6,428.

According to PT Reliance Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk (RELI) analyst, Lanjar Nafi Taulat Ibrahimsyah, the JCI movement will be corrected at the weekend.

"So, we estimate the JCI has the potential to weaken, with a support-resistance range at the level of 6,380-6,465," said Lanjar, in his research.

Meanwhile, according to PT Indosurya Bersinar Sekuritas analyst William Suryawijaya, the JCI movement in today's trading will experience a consolidation. The JCI has the support-resistance range at the level of 6,389-6,475.

William said, prior to the announcement of the December 2020 trade balance data, the JCI movement still felt at home in a reasonable consolidation range. He stated that the stability of the trade balance data will be a positive sentiment for the JCI.

Meanwhile, fluctuations in the rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar and sentiment related to commodity prices will influence the JCI movement.

"Today IHSG has the potential to be consolidated," said William.

William further said, the JCI consolidation rate could be utilized by investors by collecting shares of PT Jasa Marga Tbk (JSMR), PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI), PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF), and PT Mayora Indah Tbk (MYOR).
