Medan City Government Immediately Disburses Incentive Assistance For 2,000 Honorary Teachers

MEDAN - The Medan City Government, North Sumatra, will immediately disburse incentive assistance for around 2,000 honorary teachers during the last three months of the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah.

"Yes, we will process it in the near future," said the Head of the Medan City Education and Culture Office, Laksamana Putra Siregar, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 4.

The delay in seeking honorary teacher incentive assistance, he continued, was because his party was late in compiling this year's budget items.

This was due to joining the Medan City Culture Office into the Medan City Education Office as a result of the birth of Medan City Regional Regulation (Perda) No.8/2022.

It is known, Medan City Regional Regulation No. 8/2022 concerning Amendments to Medan City Regional Regulation No. 15/2016 concerning the Formation of Medan City Regional Devices.

"We have adjusted several budget items, because last year it was only the Education Office. It was not only incentives for honorary teachers, like we were late for the TPP (additional employee income)," he said.

Processing of incentive assistance for non-state civil apparatus (ASN) teaching staff, it is hoped that it can be disbursed before Eid al-Fitr.

"There are only 2,000 honorary elementary and junior high school teachers in Medan out of a total of around 4,000 people, because some have been appointed through PPPK (government employees with work agreements," said Putra.

Dewi (37), an honorary teacher in Medan, admitted that since January until now her party has not received any incentives for honorary teachers from the Medan City Education and Culture Office.

Last year, his party received incentives for honorary teachers ranging from IDR 600 thousand to IDR 1 million per month, sourced from the Medan City Regional Budget.

"Apart from incentives for honorary teachers, we have not received BOS funds. Even though we need the needs of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," he explained.
