The Mercedes Benz Accident Case For Police Chiefs At Pasar Minggu Will Be Held

The South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit is still investigating a traffic accident that allegedly involved a child of a high-ranking police officer that resulted in the death of a motorcycle rider named Syamil (18) in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta, on March 12. To uncover the case, the police plan to hold a case this week.

"Monday, Tuesday, or this Wednesday, we will hold a case involving Propam, Wasidik, Bidkum, and also Itwasda as supervisors," said South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit Head, Kompol Bayu Marfiando, Sunday, April 2.

"The results of this title can also be our basis for determining the next steps that investigators will take on the case," he continued.

He also said to convince the cause of the traffic accident at Pasar Minggu, said Bayu, his party was waiting for the results of the Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) method.

"The results of TAA can be our basis for determining whether this stage will be carried out into an investigation or what," he said.

Chronological

Two teenage boys on a motorbike were hit by a Mercedes Benz in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta. One person died on behalf of Syamil, while his colleague Bayu was dying and receiving treatment at Pasar Minggu Hospital.

Information was obtained, Syamil and Bayu used motorbikes to come from Cilandak to their homes in the Pasar Minggu area. Suddenly a Mercedes Benz car came at high speed from Mampang.

Instantly the luxury car hit Syamil and Bayu. Syamil died at the scene.

Allegedly, the Mercedes Benz driver is a high-ranking son of the National Police. However, this information is still uncertain.

N, as Syamil's brother, explained that the incident occurred on March 12. And the incident has been registered with the number LP. No: 127/III/2023/SPKT/Satlantas Metro South Jakarta/Polda Metro Jaya.

The Mercy driver tried to escape but was chased by ojol (online motorcycle taxis) and residents. Finally he got it, "said N when confirmed, Friday, March 31.

"(Meanwhile) my younger brother (Syamil) died on the spot. One (Bayu) seems to be in critical condition," he continued.

Furthermore, Syamil and Bayu, as well as the perpetrators were also taken to Pasar Minggu Hospital. However, upon arrival, the Mercedes Benz driver disappeared.

"When we arrived at the hospital, we were visited. Who, we didn't think about them. We thought my sister first, we cried hysterically, we didn't know she was going anywhere," he said.

Long story short, he received a letter from the police regarding the perpetrator's data. Then it was stated that the alleged perpetrator who drove the Mercedes Benz car lived in the Police complex.

"We thought he was a police son, because the address was the National Police complex. What we got was that the perpetrator was Maulana Malik Ibrahim, who was suspected of being the son of a high-ranking police officer," he said.

Meanwhile, contacted separately, the Head of Traffic at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Bayu Marfiando confirmed the accident. "Yes, that's right (the incident) March 12," he concluded.
