Juvenile Killer Of A Bank Teller In Bali On Trial, 38 Stabbings Happened When Thieves Shouted

DENPASAR - The teenager who killed a state-owned bank employee with the initials PAHP (14) is undergoing a trial at the Denpasar District Court, Bali. The trial was held in private and virtually.

"That on purpose and with the plan beforehand killed another person, namely the victim named Ni Putu Widiastiti who worked as an employee of a state-owned bank," said Public Prosecutor Ni Putu Widyaningsih and Prosecutor Ni Komang Sasmiti in a virtual court at the Denpasar District Court, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 14th.

In this case, the defendant was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code in the primary charge, Article 338 of the Criminal Code on subsidies and Article 365 paragraph (3) in the more subsidies charge.

The prosecutor explained the origin of the case, namely on Saturday, 26 December 2020 at around 12.00 WITA, the defendant passed the victim's house on Jalan Kertanegara Gg Widura No. 24 Denpasar and saw that the victim Ni Putu Widiastiti lived alone in his house.

Furthermore, on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at around 16.00 WITA, the defendant began planning his action to steal at the victim's house. The defendant started to take a kitchen knife that he owned at home and tucked it around his waist. The defendant then went to the victim's house which was approximately 25 meters from the defendant's boarding house.

At that time, the defendant saw the gate of the victim's house closed with a padlock just stuck on the door.

"The victim was in his room on the second floor playing with his cellphone. When he turned around, the victim saw the defendant and shouted thieves, thieves, thieves. Hearing the victim screaming thief, the defendant immediately clamped the victim's mouth and immediately took the knife he had prepared," said Prosecutor Widya.

During the incident, the victim tried to grab the knife and it was again taken by the defendant. So the defendant stabbed the knife into several parts of the victim's body, with approximately 38 stabs, leaving the victim in a weak condition and died.

Next, the defendant looked for the victim's valuables and took the victim's bag containing Rp200 thousand, and took the victim's motorbike. After obtaining the victim's motorcycle, the defendant pawned it for Rp. 3 million.

In the trial chaired by Judge Hari Supriyanto, the agenda for the indictment was continued with the examination of witnesses.
