Black On Instagram And Warganet's Response To PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir

JAKARTA - Black color without any caption may be the way for PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir to lament FIFA's verdict canceling the status of host of the U-20 World Cup in Indonesia.

FIFA officially canceled Indonesia as the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup through the official website, Wednesday, March 29 last night.

Erick Thohir is not alone disappointed. In the comments column of the personal Instagram account of the former Inter Milan boss, many netizens sympathized and thanked Erick Thohir for trying his best to make Indonesia continue to host the prestigious number two football event.

"Thank you for trying your best. Maybe indeed Indonesia and its people are not ready to move forward." write the @vikihardja account in Erick Thohir's post.

"Receiving kash pak@erickthohirdan @pssi for his efforts to build the future of Indonesian football. We football supporters in this country really appreciate your business. But what is the power just because of the politics of all the futures of young people in this country is increasingly collapsing. Which is due to a handful of people who do not think about the future of the nation's future", wrote the Instagram account @rafi_pradana21 in the same post.

Previously, Erick Thohir admitted that he had struggled as much as possible when meeting with FIFA President, Gianni Infantino in Doha, Qatar to fight for the U-20 World Cup to continue running in Indonesia.

However, according to Erick Thohir, Indonesia's position as one of its members must comply with FIFA's authority and decision to cancel Indonesia as the host of the U20 World Cup.

"I have struggled my best. After submitting a letter from President Jokowi, and talking long with the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, we must accept the FIFA decision to cancel the event that we are both looking forward to," said Erick Thohir.

"We have to be strong. I ask all football lovers to keep their heads high on FIFAini's heavy decisions. Because I am independent, because this is the time for us to prove to FIFA to work harder to transform football, towards clean football and achieve achievements," concluded Erick Thohir.
