Bareskrim Immediately Holds Asabari Corruption Case Case That Causes Tens Trillion In State Losses

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri investigators will immediately expose or title a case in the handling of the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri.

"Investigators will immediately conduct a case title related to the PT Asabri corruption case," said Head of the Public Information Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, at the Police Criminal Investigation Office, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 13.

The title of the case was carried out after the corruption case was also handled by the investigating prosecutor at the Attorney General's Office (AGO). The purpose of a case title is to determine the suspect in this case.

Ramadhan said that Bareskrim Polri investigators will coordinate with the Attorney General's Office in conducting the title of the PT Asabri corruption case, so that the AGO can find out about the progress of the handling of the corruption case.

"Until now, investigators from the National Police and the Attorney General's Office have always coordinated," he also said.

The National Police has handled the alleged corruption case of PT Asabri since January 2020. There are three public reports regarding the corruption case.

The first report was received by Polda Metro Jaya with report number 63 / I / 25/2020 dated January 15, 2020. Then the second report was received by Bareskrim Polri with report number A077 / II / 2020 dated February 7, 2020. Finally, the report was received by Bareskrim Polri with a report number A0175 / III / 2020 dated 24 March 2020.

Since the case was handled by the National Police, neither the investigating team of Polda Metro Jaya nor the Police Criminal Investigation Team have also named a suspect. The status of the case only moved up to the investigation stage in November 2020.

Now, the PT Asabri corruption case is also being handled by the Attorney General's Office investigating after being pressured by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir in December 2020.
