CIANJUR - Police arrested dozens of teenagers who were about to fight a sarong in Sukamulya Village, Cianjur, West Java, but in the end they were sent home after receiving guidance and their parents picked them up. To the parents of the teenagers, the Tarawih Prayer permit

Sukaluyu Police Chief, AKP Yayan Sunarya when he said that his party received reports from residents regarding dozens of teenagers who wanted to carry out a sarong war on the connecting road between sub-districts, so they immediately carried out patrols.

"Officers managed to secure dozens of youths who wanted to fight sarongs with other teenagers who had made an appointment through social media. Their actions were suspected by residents who immediately reported to the Sukaluyu Police and managed to secure dozens of teenagers with evidence of sarongs and a sharp weapon," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 28.

Until Tuesday afternoon, to deter the teenager, his party provided guidance before being handed over to his parents so that they could receive strict supervision because their actions could cause casualties and disrupt public order.

"We will increase the patrol schedule for vulnerable hours such as after taraweh and sahur to reduce the number of people's diseases, especially the sarong war that teenagers often do during the fasting month," he said.

The police also asked local residents to report immediately if they saw suspicious behavior ranging from the activities of teenagers and suspicious people to take immediate action, so that the crime rate during fasting could be reduced.

A number of parents, admitted that they did not expect that their child who asked for permission to pray tarawih was involved in a sarong war with teenagers from other sub-districts, so they would further increase supervision of their child during the fasting month.

"I don't know if my child participated in the sarong war because from home he asked for permission to pray tarawih at the mosque. We will further tighten supervision because the sarong war can harm even the loss of life," said the parents of a teenager who was secured by Mahfudin (48).
