KPK Reminds Witnesses To Suspects In Corruption Cases In Allowances At The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources To Be Cooperative

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the parties to be summoned regarding the corruption case of cooperative performance allowances at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Their information is needed to shed light on the presumptuous practice.

"Various parties were summoned both as suspects and witnesses to be cooperative in attending," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, March 28.

Ali said they had to provide information needed by investigators. "So that later (this case, ed) can be brought to trial immediately," he said.

Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission ensured that the investigation into the alleged corruption was in accordance with the rules. Ali invited the public to continue to monitor.

"In order for the process of investigating this case to remain on the track, we hope that the public can always monitor it and we are open to conveying the update," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK revealed that it was investigating allegations of corruption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. It is suspected that the allowance money was cut and entered into a private pocket.

The amount of money deducted has not been given in detail by the KPK. However, it is suspected that tens of billions of money were enjoyed by the perpetrators, including for operational costs to support the examination process of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

In investigating this allegation, investigators from the anti-corruption commission have conducted a search. This action was carried out at the Office of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Jalan Merdeka Selatan.
