Police Arrest 4 Explosives Sellers, Confiscated 40 Kg Of Explosives

DEMAK - Four explosives sellers who were caught in firecrackers on Facebook social media were arrested by members of the Demak Police.

The arrests began when MS (29), a resident of Sumberejo Village, Bonang District, was arrested for selling firecracker explosives. The suspect MS was arrested after being caught producing firecracker drugs for sale.

"From MS's hands, the police managed to secure 13 kilograms of firecracker powder, 1 drum containing aluminum folders, 1.5 sacks of sulfur, 1 sack of potassium and 1 scale," said Demak Police Chief AKBP Budi Adhy Buono, Monday, March 27.

Furthermore, the police also arrested other perpetrators with the initials RS (19) and AFS (17) residents of Semarang City. From the hands of the two, the police confiscated 3 kilograms of firecracker powder, 1 unit of motorcycle and 1 unit of cellphone.

After the development was carried out, the police again arrested the suspect AC (33), a resident of Sayung District. From his hands, the officers managed to secure evidence of firecracker powder weighing 24 kilograms.

AKBP Budi Adhy Buono added that the arrest of the perpetrator was based on the direct order of the Central Java Police Chief to take firm action against the perpetrators of making and selling firecrackers in the Central Java region.

"The arrests began with public reports about the alleged production of firecrackers in the local area. Based on the results of the investigation, officers managed to arrest 4 suspected makers and sellers of firecracker drugs," he said.

AKBP Budi revealed, from the four suspects, officers managed to secure 40 kilograms of firecracker powder.

"They admitted to buying from firecracker makers at a price of 130 per kilogram and selling it at a price of 30 thousand per ounce through the COD system in a predetermined place," he said.

As a result of his actions, four suspects were snared with suspicion of violating the RI Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 concerning Explosives.
