JAKARTA - The United States Civil Society Rights Group is calling on advertisers to boycott YouTube if it does not remove President Donald Trump's channel from YouTube.
Jim Strayer, a member of this group, said that he asked YouTube to remove Trump's channel because it was spreading false information about the faked results of the US presidential election.
He continued, YouTube has told them to consider these demands, but has not confirmed when to act.
"If YouTube doesn't agree to join us and other platforms to ban Trump. We will go to the advertisers (to boycott)," he said.
To note, Steyer was one of the initiators of the 'Stop Hate for Provit' campaign in July last year, which caused more than a thousand ad advertisers to boycott Facebook.
Previously, the Alphabet Workers Union (AWU) union that houses Google employees also asked YouTube to block Trump's channel.
