7 Days Looking Without Results, SAR Stops Fishermen Search Operations In South Lampung Waters

LAMPUNG SELATAN - The search for fishermen who went missing in the waters of Mundu Island, Ketapang District, South Lampung, was finally stopped after going on for seven days.

The search for the victims of fishermen who drowned in the waters of Mundu Island was previously carried out by the Joint SAR team, Rescue Post SAR Bakauheni, Polair Polda Lampung, Polair Polres Lampung Selatan, Babinsa Pengmedian, crew of the KM Bahat Al Barokah ship and local fishermen.

However, the search operation for seven days was fruitless. "The search for victims of fishermen who drowned has entered the seventh day. The Joint SAR team stopped searching for the victim named Ali Yusuf (31), crew member of KM Bahtera Al Barokah who fell in the waters of Mundu Island, Ketapang District," said the Coordinator of the Bakauheni SAR Post, Febri Yanda, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 23.

He said that the operation had been carried out for seven days and there were no signs of casualties, so the SAR operation was proposed to be closed and followed by monitoring.

"If in the future there is a report or information about the victim, the SAR operation is ready to be reopened," he said.

He conveyed that previously his party received reports of missing victims on Sunday (16/3) and then the Joint SAR Team started a search at 07.30 WIB.

Then the Joint SAR Team headed to the location of the incident and carried out a search for a radius of 13 NM towards the south of Soldier Island, Sangiang Island, Tanjung Tua, and Sebesi Island Waters, as well as Sangiang Island, using RIB 02 Basarnas. Sar Bakauheni Post, also joined the search.
